Holi (होली), also known as the festival of colours is one of widely celebrated in India and many other countries. The festival has, in recent times, spread to parts of Europe and North America as a spring celebration of love, frolic, and colours.
Holi Celebrations in New Delhi
Celebration of festival of colours is bit same as it is celebrated in other state but due to large number of college student (Youth). Festival celebration boost up due to their great enthusiasm. Their energy to enjoy each festival, specially holi is just watchable. Not only celebration they also try to make it eco friendly festival too. Holi celebrations start with a Holika bonfire on the night before Holi where people gather, sing and dance. Next day people apply colour on each other ,hug and greet each other. People move out in tolis and apply colour on each other till they become unrecognizable.Feasts, music, dancing and blasting parties organized at many places in New Delhi. Not only college student enjoy this event but we can seen people working in offices etc also come together to roll on. Holi is also celebrated at the Presidents and Prime Minister residences.
